The recently reactivated Beta Me Chapter at DePaul University will soon be closed, as per a vote of the Executive Committee of the Fraternity. That sad news has befallen APD due to DePaul University's refusal to recognize the fraternity's reactivation. Initially the school was supportive of the addition of APD to the campus, and then near the end of the recognition process (following a staff change), decided against the expansion. With that, the school automatically denied facility, wearing of letters, and promotion of the fraternity -- effectively shutting down the chapter. The Executive Committee voted, at its most recent meeting on February 21, 2014, that is there is no change or movement with the school by the June 30, 2014, the chapter is to be deemed closed.
