Chapter President James Callandriello, of our Gamma Pi Chapter at Ramapo State College of New Jersey, reports that on April 26, the brothers of Gamma Pi Chapter hosted a Sweetheart Pageant at the campus. The money raised at this Pageant was donated to the local area's Ramapo Reservation. The Ramapo Reservation is a 3000+acre county park located in Mahwah, New Jersey in Bergen County, bordering Ringwood State Park to the north and the Ramapo Mountain State Forest to the south. It a popular location for students from Ramapo College to visit.
In the list of interesting events from this past fall semester, here's a great one: Our brothers at Gamma Pi Chapter (Ramapo State College of New Jersey) held a "Turkey Jam." This November charitable fundraising event was a concert featuring artists and bands from Ramapo College (including many APD brothers) to benefit The Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
The brothers of Gamma Pi Chapter raised money and collected non-perishable food by charging $5 for entry into the event, and with every donated can of food, students received $1-off the admission price.
With our Gamma Pi Chapter brothers playing and providing music for a good cause, I guess you can call the chapter a band of brothers. Good work Gamma Pi!
