Gamma Rho's home: Baruch College in NYC Our Gamma Rho (Baruch College) Chapter President, Marc Fariello, reports a lot of community service and philanthropic activity for the spring semester.
Supporting their school, on St. Patrick's day the chapter collaborated with other organizations to host a school-sponsored festival. Many students showed up and the event was a great success.
Then the chapter partook in the school's Relay for Life -- a cancer fundraiser -- which ran through much of the month of March and wrapped up with an overnight event on March 21st. The Chapter sold wristbands, and held carnival games to raise money for the Relay for Life cause. When all was said and done, out of fifty-plus campus organizations, APD finished in the top 10 with approximately $750 raised.
Moving into April, the Chapter had more good works on the way. On April 7th, Gamma Rho hosted an alcohol awareness event where members discussed responsible drinking. Then on April 8th the Chapter hosted a "Poetry Jam" where students present were invited to share different poems, readings, or anything else they wanted. It was an excellent community building event.
